BASIS Mesh Designation
BASIS COMPOSITE MESH is designed for reinforcement of concrete structures and substitutes standard metallic reinforcement.
It has the following advantages over metal::
- 9 times lighter
- 3 times stronger
- by 25% cheaper
- corrosion-resistant
- considerably speeds up reinforcement process (does not require binding on site)
- does not require underlaying of chairs
- low thermal conductivity
Uniqueness of Technology
Composite rods are connected into the mesh using a unique patented technology at high-performance automatic equipment. The production capacity is up to 21500 meters of mesh per a 12-hour shift.
The joint also performs the function of a chair, which forms a protective concrete layer. The chair height varies on the rod diameter and complies with GOST.
The mesh-forming rod is coated with quartz sand, which considerably increases coupling with concrete.
Application area
The use of BASIS meshes is restricted only to their impossibility to work at temperatures above 150°С, therefore at this stage it is not recommended to reinforce structures which shall comply with fire requirements: building coverings over 3 stories, bridge columns, monolith pillars over 3 stories.
Except for this, there remains almost the entire range of concrete structures:
- fundaments
- concrete roads
- bank protection
- concrete floor
- concrete oil storage
- concrete chemical storage
- concrete goods
- frames of buildings up to 3 floors
- coverings of buildings up to 3 floors
- concrete bath
- pools
- fountains
- squares
- soil slopes stabilization
- treatment plants
- water wells
- pavement slabs
- mooring berths
- harbour installations
- foundation frames
- underground parking
- bridge decking
- helicopter platforms
- concrete parking lots
- access ramps
- drive-up structures
- floating docks

Why BASIS is better than metal?
What composite meshes are available in Russia?
Over the past three years, the following types of composite mesh have appeared in Russia:
Pletenka
Method: Interlacing of rods |
Proshivnaya
Method: Roving punching with fiber |
Galen mesh
Method: Thermal soldering |
ВАSIS mesh
Method: Thermal soldering |
Disadvantages:
– not more than 150° С – low strength – poor bonding with concrete – small dimensions

Who invented BASIS?
ВАSIS technology is developed by Armatura+ group of companies. We are located in Saransk and have been working with composites over 5 years already.
Our design engineers develop unique technologies such as BASIS meshes and equipment for their production. We are open for collaboration and have a rich experience in “turn-key” setting up of production facilities both in Russia and other countries. Our clients are: Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Ukraine and many Russian cities: Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Ioshkar Ola, Volgograd, Moscow, Belgorod, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad.
We will be glad to work with YOU!
