Industrial facility floors

Fiberglass reinforcements are forcing out the metal ones everywhere. It’s conditioned by both their specifications and low cost. At present fiberglass reinforcements are cheaper than steel reinforcements of any brand. And in the future this difference is going to get even bigger.

Composite reinforcements are broadly applied for pouring the floors of industrial facilities. As opposed to metal reinforcements, those made of glass fiber enable to significantly lower the cost of works, as well as to decrease the number of overlappings and save on delivery. The practice shows that the speed of binding composite reinforcements at pouring industrial facility floors is at least twice and high as that of binding steel reinforcements.

Floors of industrial facility constantly bear high loads, and are  impacted by corrosive media. So, their durability directly depends on the reinforcements used. Steel reinforcements prone to corrosion are not able to ensure  more than three year floor service life. Meanwhile, composite reinforcements make it possible to increase this period twice, if not three times.

Fiberglass reinforcements have not only high corrosion resistance, but are also distinguished by a low thermal conductivity and low specific gravity. Due to this fact, they are ideal for floors of industrial facilities.

– reinforcement consumption – 82,000 linear meters (with account for overlapping)

– fiberglass of diameter 6 (instead of metal, diameter 10)

– price of fiberglass of diameter 6 – 10-00 rub./linear meter

– 10.00*82,000=820,000 rub. inclusive of VAT (price of metal of diameter10 – 16*82,000=1,312,000)

– 1,312,000-820,000=492,000 saved on metal substituted with fiberglass!

40,000 m2 double-reinforced floors, lower layer – 200*200 meshes, upper layer – 300*300 meshes

– reinforcement consumption: lower layer – 410,000 linear meters (with account for overlapping)

– fiberglass of diameter 6 (instead of metal, diameter 10)

– price of fiberglass of diameter 6 – 10-00 rub./linear meter

– 10.00*410,000=4,100,000 rub. inclusive of VAT  (10D metal price – 16*410,000=6,560,000)

– reinforcement consumption: upper layer – 270,000 linear meters (with account for overlapping)

– fiberglass of diameter 6 (instead of metal, diameter 10)

– price of fiberglass of diameter 6 – 10-00 rub./linear meter

– 10-00*270,000=2,700,000 rub. inclusive of VAT  (10D metal price – 16*270,000=4,320,000)

– 10,800,000-6,800,000=4,000,000 saved on metal substituted with fiberglass!
